Summer time is upon us, and we are getting 1000 feet of slick vinyl to brighten our day and city streets. Come dressed to impress because it’s not every day you can strut through town with your hot bod, cool dance moves and slick slides. Did you know 1000 feet is over 3 football fields!!

To find out more information about this fantastic event, read more below.

August 1 and 2nd this family fun event will be transforming 10th St. NW (Next to Riley Park) into a wet and wild party. There will be live music, food, drinks, water, and of course the biggest slip and slide ever to hit asphalt. The soapy wet vinyl is padded underneath to make it safer and more comfortable, everyone is encouraged to bring your water buckets, floaties, and water guns (non-realistic of course), to squirt, spray, splash, and get all attending soaked.

Tickets sell fast, so you will want to grab yours right away! To purchase your tickets, follow this link: http://www.slidethecity.com/events/calgary/. There are 3 different types of tickets you can purchase: The Single Slider, Triple Slider and VIP slider.

The Calgary Slide event will be partnering with both the Canadian Cancer Societyand Ronald McDonald House.

What to expect on your big day
Bikes, bussing, public transportation, and carpooling are encouraged. If you must bring your car, be prepared to walk a short distance from the event.

Before you jump on the Slide, head to the registration tent to check-in and pick up your goodies.  Based on what you registered for, you will receive a wristband which gives you access to ride the Slide. Hang onto your wristband or you won’t be able to ride!  For maximum speed and safety all sliders must have an inflatable tube to ride.  Remember to grab your friends, your swimsuit, and your signed waiver and you’ll be ready to Slide the City.

The last slider will be accepted in line 30 minutes before the Slide closes. The earlier you come, the more you will be able to Slide the City. If there is a little rain it only means there will be more water on the Slide!

The slide is designed to recirculate water throughout the day which minimizes water use. Approximately 12,000 -16,000 gallons of water is typically circulated in a day. At the end of the event, the water used in the slide will be treated and then recycled back into the community. Methods of recycling include local reclamation centers, watering city parks, and other places dependent upon direction from city officials.

So Calgary, grab your family and your friends and some tickets and come down to 10th St for some slip and slide fun like no other!
